I find my creative spark in the quiet of the night and on weekends, when I can fully immerse myself in writing.

It depends on the mood. When writing, I prefer slow music or bhajans to create a calming atmosphere.

Do you have a writing ritual / superstition?

I love writing in the office after office hours and jotting down notes on my mobile whenever inspiration hits.

What’s your guilty reading pleasure?

My guilty reading pleasure is indulging in whimsical fantasy novels filled with imaginative worlds and quirky characters. There's something delightful about escaping reality and getting lost in stories that defy the ordinary.

Do you have one sentence of advice for new writers?

Pour your heart into writing, let your true emotions flow freely, allowing each word to carry a piece of your soul.

Ajay Kumar Singh is a promising author, acclaimed poet, and dedicated social worker, currently serving as the Regional PF Commissioner - I at the Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) under the Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India. He holds a master’s degree in Geography from Banaras Hindu University and an MBA from MSRIM, Bangalore. An active sportsman during his school and university days, Ajay began his career in the corporate sector, where he held various managerial positions for over a decade before transitioning to public service following his selection through the UPSC in 2013.

A member of Mensa India, Ajay's influence extends beyond his professional accomplishments. He is the founder of Hamara Sankalp, an NGO dedicated to transforming the lives of underprivileged students, women, persons with disabilities, and senior citizens in West Bengal. His work through Hamara Sankalp has garnered national recognition, including the National Education Brilliance Award for the Best NGO working for child education in West Bengal.
Ajay's dedication and achievements have been widely acknowledged, earning him the ‘Ummido Ka Champ’ award, where he was featured in the editorial column of ‘Taare Zameen Par’ magazine for his exemplary commitment to social causes.

He has also been honoured with the ‘Distinguished Alumni Award’ for Social Impact by his alma mater, MSRIM, Bangalore.
As an author, Ajay has published ‘Mere Kuchh Alfaaz’, a Hindi poetry collection available on Amazon. His literary work reflects his deep connection with readers and his passion for storytelling.
