Smriti is a writer who has an undergraduate degree in Bio-Medical Engineering from Samrat Ashok Technological Institute and a Master’s in Biology with a major in psychology from New York University. After shifting her focus from engineering to Biology and eventually to psychology, where she found her calling. She began working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and wished to continue her work with them in India where she felt she could make a difference in working towards the destigmatisation of mental health disorders. ‘Lurker’ is her first book, born out of her experiences with her patients with depression, where the need to understand depression lurking in the corners of the mind resulted in this novella. Smriti now aspires to write about mental disorders in a fictional setting to raise understanding and awareness, while continuing to work with children with developmental disorders and at Lumos clinic, where she hopes to make people’s lives better with her husband. She currently lives in Bhopal, M.P.
