SREELATHA RADHAKRISHNAN holds a post-graduate degree in English Literature and teaches English. As a hobby, she has occasionally dabbled in writing for magazines and college brochures. It was only when she began reading stories out aloud to her grandchildren on her visits to the US, that she discovered the art of story-telling. She loved their reactions, especially when she acted out the stories using funny voices. She also noticed that the details she added caught their fancy more than the actual text. That was when she realized that she too, could tell a story.
Mentored by the famous children's’ writer, Santhini Govindan, SreeLatha’s first book, Appaka, featured illustrations by award-winning illustrator, Muraleedharan. It has since been translated into eight languages. Climbing Rainbows is her second foray into writing for children. This time it is a compilation of stories about how children face and cope with life’s difficult situations.
